EllGeo Re (Mauritius) Ltd is a Reinsurance Broking Company licensed by the Financial Services Commission in Mauritius. Since 2013, EllGeo Re took over the activities of Willis Re (Mauritius) Ltd, which had been servicing clients in the Indian Ocean Islands and sub-Saharan Africa since 2006, following the acquisition of Reinsurance Consultants and Intermediaries who were established in Mauritius since 2003.

RCI
Founded in 2003, the company started off as a subsidiary of the largest independent South African reinsurance broker at the time, Reinsurance Consultants and Intermediaries (RCI), which was the reinsurance arm of Glenrand MIB, a leading South African financial/insurance group.
Willis Re
In 2006, following the acquisition of RCI South Africa by Willis Group, RCI Mauritius became Willis Re (Mauritius) Ltd. The company continued on its expansion drive, and extended its client base to the Indian Ocean Islands and Southern Africa.
EllGeo Re
In 2013, Willis Re (Mauritius) Ltd was acquired by a consortium of local investors including IBL Group, the largest conglomerate in Mauritius, active across the Mauritian economy and in Africa, Europe and Asia.

Since December 2020, IBL Group is the sole shareholder, having acquired fully the stakes of the individual shareholders in the consortium

Launch of EllGeo Seagon Reinsurance Brokers Limited in Kenya, overseeing the East African market.
